Women in Mining invites High Desert Educators to a virtual workshop designed to equip teachers with the tools necessary to teach their
students about everyday products that use locally-mined minerals directly, or products that are made from minerals, such as toothpaste! Teachers will learn how to make a “marketable” toothpaste, learn about minerals such as Calcite and Trona and why mining is important to our everyday life through hands on activities.
Participants will receive a kit to take back to the classroom to share these fun and investigative activities with their students!
