Join us for a hands-on educator workshop where you will learn about geology, mining for raw materials, the difference between cement and concrete, and how limestone is transformed into an important building material.
As an added bonus educators will be treated to a guided tour of CalPortland’s Oro Grande Cement Plant, an award winning plant which has the largest cement kiln of its kind west of the Mississippi!
This experience is exclusively for High Desert educators and not available to the general public. Workshop is limited to 20 educators.*
