“Trash to Gas” Essay Contest

Trash to Gas
K-12 Essay Contest

As California works towards its goal of zero-carbon energy, its renewable
energy sector is becoming an increasingly important part of the states
clean energy future. Renewable energy is being fueled by more than just
solar and wind power. Renewable natural gas (RNG) is a powerful tool
being used to reduce greenhouse gases while still meeting our energy
needs. If you think natural gas only comes from ancient fossil reserves,
think again. In 2000 words or less, tell us how does natural gas come
from renewable resources and how is it already being used to help
meet California’s clean energy goals.
