Attention Grades 3-12 Educators!
You are invited to an Introductory STEM/SL Workshop!
Connect Curriculum to Community Through Environmental Service Learning Projects
MEEC cordially invites you and your fellow teachers to take part in an introductory ”Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics “STEM” Service Learning Workshop!
This professional development workshop will show you the difference between service–learning and community service while familiarizing yourself with fitting STEM into your curriculum and using it as a foundation towards developing an environmental service-learning project.
By engaging students in real-world problem–solving, service learning helps expand content knowledge, engage students, fosters good citizenship and meet the needs of diverse learners. Help your students develop cooperation and leadership skills and understand scientific methodology!
This workshop serves as the prerequisite for further MEEC STEM Service Learning workshops, including the STEM Certification program.
Attendees will receive a FREE copy of the newly released “Integrating Scientific Practices and Service-Learning: Engaging Students in STEM” resource book.
Dinner will be provided.
