“Cement is Not Concrete!”
A K-12 Teacher Workshop presented by Women In Mining
Join us for an evening of hands-on learning at CalPortland Company’s Oro Grande Cement Plant!
Come and learn the difference between cement and concrete during this two-hour workshop that will demonstrate how to engage your students in the geology of mining! Teachers will receive a FREE curricula guide with tables listing specific minerals and rocks, their characteristics, plus lesson plans, glossaries, and a historical timeline of Portland Cement!
As an added bonus, participants will tour the CalPortland Oro Grande Cement Plant with plant engineers to see how cement is made and learn how they do it while continuing to be an industry leader in energy conservation and environmental innovation!
