Are you interested in the relationship between Peace, Service, and Spirituality? Join the Youth of California as we transform the world through service.

Do you have a passion for service? Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your leadership skills and foster your personal growth?

The CATALYST Program
CATALYST (CAlifornia Taking Action for Learning Through Youth Service Teams) is coordinated by Youth Service California (YSCal) and funded by the California Department of Education’s CalServe Initiative (through a grant from Learn and Serve America), the Shinnyo-en Foundation, and the State Farm Foundation.

CATALYST is a statewide, youth-driven team of youth service leaders. Currently comprised of 31 (36 max) high school youth, ambassadors hail from and serve throughout California in local and regional teams to support and promote youth service and service-learning locally, regionally,
and statewide. We are currently recruiting up to 15 ambassadors and up to 2 each in Regions 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 to fill positions that will be vacated by our outgoing senior class. During their ambassadorship, CATALYST ambassadors serve as the youth voice for youth service and service-learning in the state of California—locally, regionally, and statewide.
