MEEC Receives San Bernardino County Education Medal of Honor

Each year, the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools recognizes individuals and groups who give outstanding service and support to public education with the San Bernardino County Education Medal of Honor.

MEEC was one of six recipients selected this year from a pool of 29 entries for the Superintendent’s top honor, which was presented in Rancho Cucamonga on April 28. This is the second Medal of Honor conferred on MEEC in the last decade in the “Volunteer in Action/Service Group” category.

Offering environmental education resources to more than 2,600 teachers in the region at no charge, MEEC offers standards-based instructional programs that utilize science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) principles, as well as new Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.

MEEC is funded through the generosity of more than 40 business and government sponsors who donate valuable resources and time to the organization and the teachers and student it serves.
