FREE Environmental Science Fair Teacher Workshop

The first of five FREE teacher workshops for the upcoming 2009/2010 school year is near! We have designed this workshop especially for you! MEEC has planned this two-hour Environmental Science Fair Projects to provide teachers with the tools necessary to assist your students in creating a high quality and successful environmental science fair project and display board. We know how time consuming and overwhelming it can be for some, and probably the most difficult part of a science fair project is coming up with a good subject to research so what have done the research work for you!

Each participant will recieve a binder that contains “Environmental Science Topics”; a “Science Fair Handbook”; “How to Deliver a Good Oral Presentation”; Student Do’s & Don’ts”; “Tips for the Student”; “How to Build a Winning Display Board”; a sample judges score sheet; internet resources, and an explanation of the scientific process and the importance of a scientific journal.

These valuable tools can be shared with your students so that they can confidently organize and complete a successful science project. The benefits that a student receives from doing a science project may surprise you. Participation in science fairs offers students the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge from the completion of a research project. The science fair project integrates nearly all of the skills that a student learns in school into one activity. The student gains poise, confidence and learns valuable presentation skills by presenting their research to parents, peers, scientists, and judges.
