“Dust in the Air…Why Should I Care?” was the theme of the District’s 17th Annual Clean Air Month Poster Contest, which drew more than 800 entries from fledgling artists throughout the MDAQMD’s jurisdiction. Twelve winners were selected in three age categories – 4 -7; 8-11; and 12-18. During an awards ceremony on May 29, winners received gift cards ranging in denomination from $100 to $15, depending on place awarded. Each winning poster and its artist will also be featured in the District’s 2014 calendar. The contest was co-sponsored by the Daily Press, A&WMA’s Mojave Desert Chapter and VVTA, who also awarded bicycles to two contest participants, whose names were drawn at random from all entries.
