YELC STEM Service-Learning Showcase Spring 2012!!!

YELC STEM Service Learning Team Advisors and Teams-

The 1st Annual MEEC/YELC STEM Service-Learning “Showcase” is an event where students, teachers and partners can come together to share and celebrate this year’s service-learning projects. Learn about the work students throughout the region have done to address community issues and share your team’s success (and challenges) in developing and implementing a STEM service-learning project.

Please check out the Showcase Presentation attachment STEMSLShowcaseDISPLAYS for information on preparing a PowerPoint or poster presentation to share. We have also provided a simple template for you to use in creating that PowerPoint as well as how to design an informative Display Board. Project Reflection Tools, Tips for Partnership Collaborations, and a Team Progress Report and Follow Up are also provided for your use. (Please disregard the date on the Team Progress Report). These tools are being provided in an effort to assist your SL Team make an outstanding presentation at the YELC Showcase!

In addition to the poster or PowerPoint presentation, several teams will be invited to make a presentation to the full group. If you are interested in sharing your project, let us know. Team presentations are limited to the first five teams on a first come basis.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!! with these dates: the “Showcase” in the Antelope Valley will be Saturday, April 14, 2012 (Discovery School, Lancaster) and Apple Valley on Saturday, April 28, 2012 (Lewis Center for Environmental Research “LCER”).
