2022 MEEC Maker Week

September 10, 2019

Earth Week begins on April 18 and MEEC invites you to kick-off this year’s festivities with MEEC’s Environmental Maker Week! Teachers of students in grades 3-12 can register a class or club to participate in five days’ worth of hands-on environmental STEM activities.  This year themes include: gardening, renewable energy, geology and mining, water conservation and engineering.

Teachers of grades 3-12 within MEEC boundaries can register up to 32 students to receive kits for ten 20-minute activities that can fit flexibly into their schedule.   Kits will include all supplies needed and lessons with step-by-step instructions including pictures to guide you through the activities.   Joel Greene, the creator, producer and host of “Curiosity Quest” will help students kick off each day by sharing his adventures and travels related to the day’s theme. Kits will be delivered to schools no later than Friday, April 15th.

Two teachers may register from each school and registration will be open to the first 20 teachers that sign up.  Registration is available at: https://forms.gle/PiW8nJTbMRP5yGQ78.  Register your group by April 13, 2022.
