Take a quick look around. Once to the left. And then to the right. How many plastic products
can you spot? The question is not whether you can find any, but how many. In this day and
age, we all use plastic. A lot of it. Around the clock and all over the world. Nearly 300 million
tons of plastic are produced worldwide every year. Only 20% of it is recycled, the rest ends up
in the environment. And it’s bound to stay there as plastic takes decades or even centuries to
decompose.

In 1,000 words or less, can you tell us at least 3 reason why it is important for our
environment that we ditch the bottle and 3 easy ways that you can reduce your plastic
consumption.

There are five prize categories:
Kindergarten (can draw a picture with 2-3 sentence
about the concept)
1-2 Grade
3-5 Grade
6-8 Grade
9-12 Grade
All awards are gift cards. First place
winners will receive $50 second place $25 and third
place will receive $15.
