“A Garden In Every School”

Provided by a generous grant from the Boeing Company,  MEEC is proud to present “A Garden In Every School” FREE teacher workshop!  This NEW and ENGAGING 2-hour workshop will present educators with resources to aid in establishing and sustaining a  successful school garden!!!  Educators of grades K-12 are invited to attend the upcoming workshop at one of three locations throughout the High Desert.  The workshop will allow educators to learn how a school garden can provide active-learning opportunities for their students that integrate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities with Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core State Standards.  Participating educators will receive a FREE STEM Garden Kit which includes the award-winning resource book “The Growing Classroom- Garden and Activity Guide,” along with a garden drip irrigation kit, a soil moisture meter and  Agriculture in the Classroom’s “Resources 4 Every Season” curriculum!

 

 Topics covered during this workshop will include:

  “Planning & Designing Your School Garden”

“What & When To Plant”

“Integrating Gardens into STEM Service-Learning Projects”

AND MUCH, MUCH MORE!

 

This workshop is being offered at three locations throughout the High Desert.  Workshop time is 4:00 PM-6:00 PM for all locations.  Registration begins at 3:45 PM.
