UPDATE (3/23/2020) : A message to our MEEC community on COVID-19

MEEC COVID-19 UPDATE (3/23/2020)- The mandate has been ordered for all California residents to “stay at home.” This is a necessary precaution to further curb the possible spread of the COVID-19 virus.

In order to comply with the state mandate, MEEC has made the difficult decision to postpone all further events and activities for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.

Please note:

*For educators who have received a MEEC EnviroBus Bucks Grant, EE Mini Grant, or School Garden   Grant:  MEEC would like to extend your grant to be used for the 2020/2021 school year.  This will not affect your ability to apply for future grants. Please contact MEEC if you have questions about your specific grant.

*Environmental High School Scholarships will be awarded for the 2019/2020 academic year.    Students will be notified once a selection has been made.

We will continue to update you as the situation continues to evolve.

3/17/2020:  Due to the rapidly changing situation and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention with regards to COVID-19, the MDAQMD (which houses MEEC) is securing entry to the building and asking that anyone with necessary in-person business call 760.245.1661, ext. 2000 to seek entry (granted on a case-by-case basis). We appreciate your patience during this fluid time and thank you in advance for joining us in taking all recommended precautions in curbing the spread of this virus. 3/13/2020:  At MEEC, the health and safety of our students, teachers, and stakeholders are top of mind amid concerns about the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).  Due to MEEC’s partnership with stakeholders for many events, we will be reviewing events/programs/workshops on a case by case basis and notify you of any changes or cancellations.  Our team is reviewing the latest recommendations from the Department of Health and will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as needed.   Any additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
