Youth Environmental Leadership Conference

R.E.A.C.H. – Students “Reached” new heights at YELC 2011
Real Environmental Action Changes Habits – was this year’s theme at MEEC’s annual Youth Environmental Leadership Conference 2011 – This was no ordinary conference experience for teachers and students. It was an exciting day of learning and fun. Attendees learned new facts unique to the High Desert environment and made new friends. It was an action-packed hand-on, conference which encouraged self-confidence and improved leadership skills which attendees have taken back to their school to share with fellow students!

For the second year, YELC simultaneously offered two teacher workshops absolutely FREE to credentialed educators teaching within the MDAQMD’s or AVAQMD jurisdictional boundaries. The workshops provided teachers with standards-based environmental education curriculum and offered presentation trainig for use in the classroom.
